A group of American college students decide to go over to Ireland with Tara to meet up with her old Irish boyfriend who
has been promising them all that if they ever came to Ireland he will take them on a trip of a lifetime. Once landed they
head out to the remote forest of Ireland, where they can pick magic mushrooms and trip off their tits. Tara (Lindsey
Haun) who wasn't paying much attention on what mushrooms to pick, is too eager to wait and decides to bring the party
early and eats a deathshead mushroom (symptoms are: extreme rage and violence, and the ability to communicate
with the dead and see premonitions of the future) and begins to have an epileptic fit, and gets a quick glimpse of the
future of her boyfriend coming to her rescue, before coming back to reality. Frighteningly she calms down and finds
herself in her old boyfriends arms, just like she saw in  her day-like-dream. Later that night she drifts off and on having
more continuous premonitions of her and her friends being stalked by a crazed psychotic axe wielding madman, who
lives in the forest feeding on everything in it, including campers and tourists. Sadly her premonitions one by one start
becoming true, when one by one the madman picks off her friends, leaving her for last…

What are my exact thoughts on director Paddy Breathnach's Shrooms? Honestly... I’m sorry to say guys but this film
was utter sh*t. The way it was shot was bearable to watch at times, but I found the film was more of a trippy looking
fairytale which half the time was too dark to actually make out what the hell was going on. The storyline was far too
predictable, within the first 20 minutes I was able to guess who the killer was, and how the film was going to end. The
only good thing about this film was probably the trailer, when I viewed it for the first time over the net. Its definitely well
put together, and makes you think the killer is a evil leprechaun with a axe, but sorry this isn't the case. But what kills the
film is not the acting, nor is the way it was shot, it’s just the story itself.

Cast members all did a good job. The beautiful and mighty fine actress Alice Greczyn (GOD DAMN SHE IS FINE) who
stars in the family TV cop show Lincoln Heights for the first time I have seen in a full length featurette film, Alice Greczyn
appears in this film, which was good to see. Though the actor who stole the spotlight has to go to Lindsey Haun who
kind of looks like Kirsten Dunst who stars in the famous Spiderman trilogy as Spiderman’s girlfriend and also she
looks similar too Kristen Bell who plays TV character Veronica Mars. Other than those two cast members the rest are
now a faded memory..

The gore factor was low as hell, just a bit of blood here and there, a few stabs, an axe to the head, lots of screaming
and running and a few dead bodies... Nothing to give any gorehound a hard-on over, so your better off starring at a bin
full of pads or tampons to get your jerk going.

It’s nothing we have already seen, thought of before, but apart from them picking magic mushrooms the film is a dud
and a waste of time. So save your cash, go spend your hard working government cash on a bag of pot and smoke the
bag dry and veg out on tube. This film isn't worth watching, though if you are still keen i highly suggest you might want to
go and rent this film before doing anything else further..
