Its Spring Break and three male college teenagers Anderson Lee (Jay Gillespie), Cory Jones (Matthew Carey), and Nelson Elliot (Dylan Edrington) all
decide to head down to Daytona Beach in Florida to get away from the stress of college exams. But along the way they decided to take a detour
off the highway and onto a old road which will hopefully save them some time. Unfortunately they end up in a small hick town called Pleasant
Valley where soon after they arrive, a few more highway drifters turn up in another car Joey (Marla Malcolm), Kat (Gina Marie Heekin) and Ricky
(Brian Gross), and a biker Malcolm (Mushond Lee) and his girlfriend Leah (Bianca Smith). They all have just arrived in time for the towns annual
Pleasant Valley Guts and Glory Festival. Where the towns one eyed Mayor Buckman (Robert Englund aka Freddy Krugger) and the cheerful towns
people greets them all with open arms and welcomes them as there V.I.P guests. The guests are unaware of what the town has really got
planned for them they start to notice strange things happening around them, the towns people & the Mayor finds sneaky ways of separating the
guests from each other, which they then end up killing them one by one is a gruesome fashion and using there bodies for BBQ. All because there
out to seek revenge, cause the Union Army destroyed their town way back in the Civil War in the early 1865.
I haven't had the chance to see the Godfather of Gore Hershell Gordon Lewis's horror cult classic Two Thousand Maniacs just yet, so i can't really
compare the two films together. So there for i am not 100% sure if this is a remake or a sequel to Two Thousand Maniacs. But Tim Sullivan's 2001
Maniacs is one sick, gory, bloody film i have seen in a hell of a long time. No doubt when you see the legendary Robert Englund on the front cover
you already know its going to one hell of a awesome film. 2001 Maniacs is definitely a horror fans wet dream come true, with sick scenes like acid
being forced down a guys throat, limbs teared off one by one, eyeballs popping from eye sockets, a awesome blow job scene involving metal teeth
and so much more gore, which i wont say cause i don't want to give away too much of the movie! You also get to see a small appearance of Eli
Roth director and writer of "Cabin Fever" who is a hitch hiker on the side of the highway with his German Shepard dog, which kinda made me think
that 2001 Maniacs kinda kris crosses with his movie Cabin Fever a little bit. Well just before he goes up to the mountain and gets chewed to shit
by his infected dog.
One more thing i like to say is, you might have to check out Hershell Gordon Lewis Two Thousand Maniacs before you give this a watch, cause like
i said before, i am not too sure if this is a remake or a sequel. But if you are too impatient "like myself" and want to give this movie a go, well go
ahead cause I give this baby the two thumbs up.

Three college slackers, Anderson Lee, Cory Jones and Nelson Elliot, plan a good time away from their college by heading out to Daytona Beach for Spring Break. But along they way, they get detoured into the small, off-the-map, town of Pleasant Valley, South Carolina, where they, along with three drifters, Joey, Kat and Ricky, and biker Malcolm and his girlfriend Leah, are welcomed as guests of honor by the cheerful but sinister-looking Mayor Buckman for the annual Pleasant Valley Guts and Glory Festival. Unknown to the eight unsuspecting Northerners, Mayor Buckman and the residents have more in store where they plan to use the festival as a blood ritual by separating the guests and killing them off one-by-one in ultra-gory fashion.
