28 Days Later is a some what a knock off to George Romero's Dead Trilogy in some ways. But with a fresh new twist to it. Just that the infection
can spread a lot faster than you see in George's films. Five seconds later you are turned into a blood thirsty maniac zombie.
The movie starts off with a bunch of animal activists in London that breaks into a lab that has been doing experiments on monkeys; the animal
activists release the monkey in the cage which has been infected by what they call THE RAGE. This infection can be spread though saliva, blood or
a bite, though the animal activists don't listen to the scientist and the monkey charges at the man biting and scratching him. Within seconds the
man becomes infected and jumps up and charges at one the other guys in the room. The director Danny Boyle shows us a man laying naked on
hospital bed in a lock room waking up from a coma, he soon finds the hospital in fact the whole damn city of London has been evacuated. Where
the streets an empty and there isn't a single person in sight. Until he stumbles upon a group of people in a church and then he realizes there is
something strange going on, their eyes are red and there twitching and shaking like there rabid. After that he meets a group of people who
haven't yet been infected which they explain to him what exactly has happened to England and perhaps the whole entire world. So now they have
to survive each day and hope they can find more survivors who haven't been infected by The Rage.
28 Days Later at first to me when I heard about it, I thought it would of been a shitty try hard zombie film. But I was wrong; this movie is a
powerful horror drama. Not just about zombies eating people but the fact that maybe one day this could really happen in real life. These people
you cant really call them zombies cause there not actually dead there more rabid than anything. Danny Boyle is one hell of a brilliant director and
has done a superb job in making this film, he has even gone as far as doing a alternate ending which both are wicked. I didn't recognize any of
main actors in this film, but then again I don't watch too many British films, but the acting was awesome to watch. And the gore you get to see a
lot of blood splattering over the place and a few rotten corpses laying in the streets and houses but the best scenes I love the most is seeing a
infected rabid person run into a land mind and fly and land on another one (laughs) damn he looked like a jumping frog, really cool scene. But what
I love the most about this movie is that the infection can spread very quickly, 1 drop of there blood gets into your bloodstream you then become
infected in a matter of seconds and then start killing and eating people.
Zombie and Horror fans will love this movie. It’s reminded me so much of George Romero’s The Crazies and Dawn of the Dead film which I both
love to death. I highly recommend you buy this on DVD, this will sooner or later make its way to your horror collection, so why bother waiting. Buy
it and watch it and enjoy it. But keep in mind 28 Days Later is not a zombie movie they are blood thirsty infected people.
