A young woman, Launa (Leslie Ann Valenza) from Halcyon Springs hasn't heard from her younger sister Nikki (Laura Chaves) in three days and
believes something bad has happened to her, the last time Launa has heard from her was a few college friends and her went camping in a forest
in the mountains that's one mile from a old abandon prison called Halcyon Ridge Correctional Facility which is now supposedly is haunted by a
ancient evil spirit. Launa not caring about any wise old tales, heads to the Halcyon Springs police station to get help, instead sheriff Stiver (Paul
Bugelski), a stubborn old jackass, believes that Nikki isn't missing but infact probably drunk with her college friends, so he refuses to look for
Launa's sister. Until Launa mentions about the prison the sheriff turns pale white, when Launa and her friends Crystal (Hollis Zemany) and Kadulva
(Nitin Adsul) decide to go to the old prison by themselves without the sheriffs help, sheriff Stiver decides to send his deputy Buck (Terry Jernigan)
along with them instead. Before they all head up to the prison, they drop in to see a man named Mason (DJ Perry) who used to be a Halcyon Ridge
guard, he agrees to help Launa find her younger sister. But soon as they step foot into the old prison, the ancient evil spirit that lies dormant is
again awakened and awaits for them in the dark shadows of the prison, waiting for the right time to possess their souls and eat their flesh clean
to the bone..

When i first seen the trailer to
The 8th Plague i was amazed and excited as hell to review this film. Did it pay off, HELL YEAH, i got too see a bunch
of demonic spirits that have possessed a bunch of college teenagers bodies, just cause they look at some type of a ancient symbol on the wall,
which then allowed the evil spirit to enter though the victims eyes, then they turn into blood thirsty flesh eating demonic zombies, and eat anyone
or anything that enters the old prison.

For a independent film i have to say this film was shot with perfection, beautiful camera work, awesome background scenarios and the atmosphere
of the abandon prison set was outstanding, and most of all this was all shot on digital video, director Franklin Guerrero Jr definitely knew what he
was doing.

This was Leslie Ann Valenza first feature film, and man did she play awesome role in this film. Most indie actors who first appear in a film turn out to
be so boring you just end up turning off the television, NOT Leslie, she definitely captured the character very well and was unbelievable to watch.
DJ Perry was another actor i didn't mind watching, when he first appeared you knew this guy was going to kick some major ass in this film, and he
surely did. The rest of the cast, their acting skills were around about board line, not so much believable at times but still interesting to watch, but it
didn't worry me cause i knew at some point of time in the movie they were going to be ripped apart by the demonic flesh eating zombies.

The 8th Plague will satisfy any horror/gore fans with its gruesome gore and bucket loads of blood without a doubt. I will even think those who
enjoy watching demonic films like
Evil Dead and The Exorcist, will truly get a kick out of watching The 8th Plague. This film brings a whole new
meaning to independent cinema, and if this is Franklin Guerrero Jr first film he brings to the table, man i fucking can't wait to see what he has next
up his sleeves. As he has a lot of potential as a filmmaker and I'll be keeping a close eye on any other films of his in the near future. So i highly
recommend you get this film as soon as you can, its a film you don't wanna miss, so buy it now.
