Bobby Tilton (Mike Passion) isn't having a very good day; he received in the mail his very last unemployment cheque, and just when he thought his
day couldn't get any worse, that same day he finds his best friend Nail (Ron Ramsey) stabbed to death and left for dead in a local diner, while he
was in the restroom. Now the local detective John Holmes (Lonnie Jackson) assumes Bobby had something to do with his friend’s death, and won’t
stop until he puts him behind bars. Bobby is set on his own mission to find the person who murdered his best friend, and gets the ball busting
detective off his case. Bobby needs time to clear his mind and cruises over to Leaf’s (Adam Klimas) pad to get high. It’s not until Leaf’s girlfriend
Dolphin (Wendy Shapero) who is a physic, refreshes Bobby's memory by asking him to trace back his footsteps of what happened earlier that day.
Then it hits Bobby, that the a real estate agent Thunder Goldbird (Ron Wicks) is the prime culprit in his eyes. Bobby believes an eye for an eye and
rounds up his stoner buddies and begins to plot to seek revenge on the yuppie businessman.
American Punks aka Generation X-tinct, was Independent filmmaker Mike Pacitto’s first attempt behind the camera. I got to give the guy some
credit for creating a film I am honoured to have in my collection. American Punks does resemble two other films that comes to my mind, which are
the storylines are similar of Gregg Araki's The Doom Generation (1995) and Larry Clark's Bully (2001). At times the film can be serious, and
sometimes rather stale and boring, when you least expect it picks right up and by leaving your mouth in a cotton mouth state.
I got to hand it to actor Mike Passion who definitely brought this film out of the dust and into the spotlight, with a solid, independent performance.
Apart from every second word coming out of his mouth referring every black person a Monkey or words Fuck, Bitch or Slut while in a fit of rage,
which his character definitely needs to go to a serious anger management program. This is where Mikes performance reminded me of Larry Clark's
Bully which strangely was shot 4 years after this film went to video. Apart from Mike Passion, the rest of the cast was borderline and somewhat
interesting to watch..
Their is neither gore, nor much blood within this film… but there are a few scenes that were quiet uneasy to watch, like Bobby being drugged and
taken down stairs to soon wake up in the middle of being raped in the ass, by someone who he doesn't take to kindly too. Apart from that scene,
everything else is mostly all shot out of scene, and leaves you to think for yourself what really is going on..
Mike Pacitto's American Punks has recently be released on DVD for the first time ever by Bloody Earth Films. Some people are going to love it, or
just simply hate it, but for me personally it was borderline for storyline but never once did I want to fast forward the film, nor turn it off. So if you
don't mind watching low budget films, or if you are a fan of either Larry Clark and Gregg Araki, then it could be a good chance you might get a little
kick out of this film. Other than that to everyone else, rent before you buy just to play it safe..

Bobby Tilton is a punk, a monster, a walking time-bomb. Full of hate and rage, he's ready to blow at any moment, for any reason. When Bobby’s best friend is found dead, he and his drugged out pals vow to exact revenge on the Mercedes-driving yuppie they pin as the killer. But things are not what they seem, and Bobby becomes even more vicious and unstoppable, taking out his homicidal fury on anyone who gets in his way.
