When Serena Stalin (Ariauna Albright) wanted to learn to be a serial killer, she went straight to the master, Butch Harlow (James L Edwards)! After
blackmailing him into teaching her the art of murder, the pair go on a big crime spree, and a very freaky relationship blossoms between the two.
It's a real love/hate affair with very bizarre ties binding them together, but just what exactly are these ties? And what drives and motivates the
pair to do their evil deeds?

Originally beginning life as a 30 minute short called "
I’ve Killed Before" (which is also included on the disc), it had lots of potential in the story line
department, but failed to translate it to the screen properly. This is where Bloodletting comes into the picture. The original story was stretched and
tweaked, knocking all the rough edges off the short and crafting it into a real kick ass film.

Kind of like a less arty
Natural Born Killers, there’s a lot to recommend here. The performances from the 2 leads are extremely good, especially
James Edwards. The story is a bit over the top but that’s all part of the fun! Throw in some cheap gore gags and an exploding baby!, and you have
the perfect Saturday night entertainment!

Tempe DVD Entertainment has been impressing me lately, even though their films are very low budget, and shot on video affairs, the DVDs of the
films have been superb, especially in the extra's department, and this one is no exception. It features the original short "
I've Killed Before",
director’s commentary, interviews, deleted scenes, Tempe DVD trailers & still galleries. Also the soundtrack and screenplay are included as DVD-
ROM extras.

Even though the opening sequence is quite stupid and doesn’t fit in with the rest of the movie, those who can make it past that will find a very well
thought out movie, with enough blood, cheese, witty dialogue and disturbing ideas to please just about any cult/horror fan. I give it Two Thumbs
up.

And remember, the only thing standing between Butch and Serena.......Will Die!
