Camp Slaughter AKA Camp Daze is directed by a new upcoming indie director Alex Pucci and writer by Draven Gonzalez. Camp Slaughter is
roughly a cheesy knock off to 2 camp slasher films, yeah thats right the legendary Friday The 13th films containing hockey mask maniac Jason
Voorhees & also the low budget flick Sleepaway Camp. Though out the movie you do hear a few Friday & Jason jokes which was cool, it was good
to see they paid some respect to the Friday The 13th movies.
Camp Slaughter is about 5 friends who decide to head to Boston but thought they would take a short cut using the back roads though the forest
so they can cut a few hours off there travelling driving time. Which we all know doesn't work out too good in movies like this, so there car for some
reason stalls & stops out in the middle of know where at night, before you know it they start seeing a shadow walking around in the forest. Then
they notice someone is throwing blood at the car covering the windscreen & windows of the car but the teenagers keep put in the car, cause there
all afraid that there is a Jason Voorhees is within the woods with a machete waiting for them to step foot outside the car. Before you know it, its
morning already & they are waken up by a few camp counselors from Camp Hiawatha a few hundred meters up the road. Now this is where it gets
interesting cause they either look like there from the 80s still by the clothes they are wearing or its a camp klang hidden deep in the sticks. But the
teenagers don't really notice too much but there happy there still alive & there is someone to help them out. The camp counselors tells the
teenagers that they can come back to there camp until they figure out what is wrong with the car. Later that afternoon just around sunset the
brutal murders start within the camp, a killer slicing, dicing & choking everyone he or she can get there hands on. Can they survive the camp
nightmare or will they also be slaughtered with the other Camp Hiawatha campers.
Camp Slaughter does has its ups & down though out the movie. Yes it is a Indie flick so don't expect to see Tom Cruise and Kevin Bacon within
this flick. But the acting does hold up pretty sweet, though the movie does start off pretty slow and i was tempted to turn the movie off about 20
minutes into the movie, but i was glad i didn't cause the ending is fucking awesome. It had a big twist to the film at the end of the movie, which will
blow you away. Now the gore factor it did start off shitty but then picked up at the end of the film, these guys did copy a lot of the kills from the
Friday The 13th films & it did feel sometimes i was watching one of the films. But director Alex Pucci does a good job at hiding the killers face until
the very end of the movie which i reckon paid off. I didn't mind this movie to tell you the truth, but like all Indie films they have there ups & downs
but Camp Slaughter held up pretty good. If it wasn't for the gore & weird twist at the end of the film, this movie would of become another coaster
on the table.
I don't recommend buying this one on DVD straight away, but i do recommend finding it at your local video shop and rent it out, thats if you cant
find any think else to watch. And if you like it then well then go out & buy it on DVD.
"Summer 1981, Welcome to Camp Hiawatha"

A group of kids break down while driving down a remote forest road. After a disturbing night alone in the woods, they stumble upon Camp Hiawatha in full swing and packed with seemingly happy teenagers. However, the teens and the camp itself are strangely trapped back in 1981. The clothes, the music, the hair, and the attitudes are 24 years back in time. The campers are forced to relive the same day and night over and over again. The night when a silent killer stalked the camp silencing campers and counselors one by one. The kids from the present struggle to understand and help the teens from 1981 break free of the curse. Working together both time-periods begin to learn about the different worlds from which they come and what it will take for all of them to survive.
