Security robots called Protector 101 that are designed to patrol the Park Plaza shopping mall after hours so if the robots encounter any intruders in
the mall they Robots will apprehend them until the police arrives. The robots aren't like the robots you see in Robocop but there more like
something out of Short Circuit than anything but build t like a mini tank. So the story begins when a group of teenagers who some who work at the
mall named Alison (Kelli Maroney) , Suzie (Barbara Crampton), Mary (Mary Woronov), Paul (Paul Bartel), Walter (Dick Miller) and Mike (John Terlesky)
decide to have a party in the bed store after closing hours, but this is the same night the robots go online and are introduce to secure the
shopping mall. As soon as the robots are switched on every thing seams fine until a few hours later when a crazy fucked up lighting storm erupts
over the town a lighting bolt smashes into the central computer that controls the Protector 101's outside on the roof and causes the robots to turn
into blood thirsty killer robots. Before you know it the teens have to try and survive the night without getting slaughtered by the robots , but these
robots are equip with a number of weapons like sleeping darts, stun guns, C4 and even laser weapon. They cant escape the mall until dawn until
the security shutters open up, can they survive the night of terror from the robots or will the robots tear them limb by limb before the night is out.

Chopping Mall is one hell of a movie, i cant recall how many times i rented this baby out on VHS back in the day. Chopping Mall has kinda like a
Dawn Of The Dead
feeling to it when you watch it. The Robots are the zombies & the teenagers are the hunted, oh of course this is a cult classic
from the 80's but director Jim Wynorski did do a superb good on shooting this movie. Yeah it might be a B grade movie but it isn't that cheesy at all.
The acting does hold up very well but when you think about it isn't all 80 films cheesy now days. The gore factor is awesome also, it has a
exploding head scene which is priceless, trust me you will rewind it over and over again, shit it is as good as the scene in
Scanners.

For years and years i have been dying to see this come on DVD and recently it has finally arrived on DVD, so if you see this on the net or in a store
BUY IT and trust me you will love this movie to death. Chopping Mall is a cult classic movie from the 80s and it has came a long way and deserves a
lot of respect.

Those who love to see Robots ripping and shredding helpless teenagers apart in the shopping mall well this movie is for you.
