In 1976 Producer Bill Osco (Flesh Gordon, Blood Diner) put together the world’s first Soft-core fairytale, Alice in Wonderland. It was a
huge success, so of course the rip offs came soon after. In 1977 another two different adult fairytale movies were made from the
Cinderella story. Charles Band’s Cinderella (which apparently is very good, but appears to be lost in limbo) and this, Al Adamson’s
shitfest Cinderella 2000.
The story takes place in the year 2047, and revolves around the Big Brother type activities of the government who have outlawed
everything, including books & sex. Anybody caught fucking gets taken back to the base and is shrunk down into a Barbie doll for six
months. Cinderella, who lives with her ugly stepsisters & stepmother (surprise, surprise) does all the chores around the house, while the
two sisters squabble over stupid shit and put up with there mother who keeps succumbing to cases of “the hornies”. Cinderella convinces
the sisters to let her have an afternoon off where she heads out into the forest, digs up her stash of books and decides to read a book
called Cinderella, when all of a sudden her fairy godfather pops up, in crappy spaceship mind you, to try and convince young Cindy about
the joys of sex, even going as far as turning two rabbits into humans with crappy rabbit heads and making them go at it.
After a while, one of the main dudes at the government convinces the head honcho to have a big ball, and of course Cinderella is not
invited, but the sisters & mother are. After they leave to go to the ball the fairy godfather turns up again, and after a few costume
changes, turns a dildo into a cool looking Dune Buggy which takes Cinderella to the ball. But Cinderella is on a mission from the fairy
godfather to bring back love to the planet earth. She seduces her prince charming, before realizing it is midnight and she has to go before
turning back into her dirty old self.
But prince charming wants to find this girl of his dreams and after getting the OK to sleep around the whole town. He finally finds her,
brings her back to the government HQ, seduces the main honcho, who then agrees to let people have sex again. The End!
In the right hands this could have been an interesting film. I have heard that Al Adamson is a complete talentless hack, but having never
seen one of his films before this one I wasn’t too sure whether to believe it or not. Well after seeing it I don’t think I wanna chance
another one of his flicks. This is without a doubt the most boring film I have seen in years! it's to retarded to be even funny, too corny to
be cheesy, and with fuck all nudity for a sex comedy, it would have probably been better off left where it was found. That’s not to say it’s
a 100 % complete write-off though, the inclusion of the European version, which adds 3 more sex scenes are the high point, especially the
gang bang with Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs (although only 3 of them are dwarfs! Couldn’t find any more midgets in a hurry? Ironically, one
of the midgets I swear to god is Master from Master/Blaster in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome!).
The fullscreen print used is in really good shape considering the age of the film and the extras include the aforementioned European
version, A commentary with producer Sam Sherman, Al Adamson trailer vault & booklet with an interview with Sam Sherman.
Simply put I don’t think even having a few bongs before watching this could raise a laugh out of anybody, especially when it breaks into
musical territory and the fucking annoying sex-sniffing robot who keeps repeating itself all the time. Makes a damn fine beer coaster
though.
