Daddy, Darling is written and directed from pioneer exploitation director Joseph W. Sarno, that has finally found its way onto DVD thanks to all the
kind folk from Retro Seduction Cinema. I haven't had much of a chance to check out other Joseph W. Sarno's films myself, but my staff and I have
had the honour of reviewing a good handful of titles already over the past 2 years from Retro Seduction Cinema. Comparing this film to a earlier
film from Sarno called Laura's Toys (1975) that was released 5 years later after Daddy, Darling (1970) I can clearly see why this director is very
well known for creating some of the most unique sexploitation taboo movies ever in history.
Daddy, Darling is about a beautiful 19 year old blonde bombshell girl from Demark named Katja (Helli Louise) who is still living at home with her
father Eric (Ole Wisborg). Over the years, Eric and Katja both end up sharing a very deep affectionate bond once Katja's mother passed away,
which made Katja becoming very clingy towards her windowed father. But Katja’s life is soon shattered when her father admits that he has deep
feelings for another women named Svea Karlson (Gio Petré) who he wants to marry, but most of all feels that since Katja is on the verge of
womanhood it would be a good idea for her to have the presence of another woman in the house. It's not until Katja witnesses her father and
stepmother in bed making love, which triggers a chain of jealous emotions that begin to run wild. While Katja begins to seek out attention of those
around her, she is soon opened up to another world of heated passion, mind blowing orgasms and lesbian tendencies which she will try to use to
win back her fathers affection once and for all.
I wasn't too sure what I was expecting when I got this movie in the mail, though knowing it was written and directed by Joseph W. Sarno was kind
of a sweet relief. In the back of my mind I honestly thought it was going to be a huge waste of time, since the theme of the movie was based
about a incestuous relationship of a daughter and a father which didn't really go down to well for me. But once I clicked play on the remote, I was
totally wrong to judge the cover and what I thought of the film. Daddy, Darling isn't a sleazy taboo themed which pushes the boundaries of
becoming a hardcore erotic porn, there is in fact a deep soap opera-ish erotic storyline that involves a young teenaged girl who is about to become
a woman but yet to realize that there is so much of her life she hasn't yet sexually explored. The theme of a daughter wanting to loose her
virginity to her father, I must say is pretty damn sick, but luckily the director doesn't take you on a incestuous journey within the 4 walls of a family
home, but it pushes the limits of a young 19 year old woman exploring her sexual desires with close friends and teachers. There’s scenes of Katja
who has a sexual dream about her father which she desperately wants to make love to, which I believe should of been cut back a tad bit. To losing
her virginity to a teenage boy which she pretends he is her father and we witness Katja experiencing her first ever orgasm with a lesbian couple.
With all this sexual knowledge she tries to lure her father in, which he isn't interested in her in that way, Katja soon finds herself turning to his
newly wedded wife instead. As the movie unfolds the story itself will take you on a emotional taboo roller coaster ride which will draw you deeper
and deeper into the film when every second ticks by. Joseph W. Sarno's Daddy, Darling is without a doubt a late 60s sexploitation classic, that is
beautifully shot, very well presented and will definitely get a rise out of each and every viewer at some point of time.
The acting was spot on for Danish actress Helli Louise who portrayed as a incestuous teen. It was quiet amazing to see a actress who can look so
innocent on screen and make the character come to life, I honestly believed the actress was in fact a virgin at times, with certain face expressions
and body language she used. For those who know a little bit about this beautiful Danish starlet Helli Louise made a name for herself in the
Scandinavian sex industry before moving into Joseph W. Sarno's Daddy, Darling in 1970. Helli soon moved to the UK in the early seventies and
started her British career in mainstream television. Swedish actress Gio Petré (who wore one of the worst wigs I’ve ever seen) acting career I kind
of guess went down south after appearing in Daddy, Darling after 1970 only to find work in a television movie called Gustav III (1974). Danish
actor Ole Wisborg also did star is several television movies, mini series and shows after appearing in this film, but unfortunately he soon died in
1978.
The tits and ass factor is fairly borderline, you do see a few full body naked scenes of actress Helli Louise right throughout the movie. Other Danish
actresses are also either topless or bare arse in the film. There isn't too much nudity presented in this film, but when the time arises it definitely
makes the film shine.
I highly recommend any 70s sexploitation fan to consider checking this film out at one point of time in their life. Its not a graphic sexual film, its far
deeper than your average erotic flick. For those who huge Joseph W. Sarno fans, well this movie of his is right up there with all his other greatest
works. Make sure you guys take a sneak peak of this movie as soon as you can, you wont regret owning this on DVD. The rest of you might end up
thinking this film is rather dull and boring, but still get a slight satisfaction out of it in your own little way. You might want to play it safe and rent to
buy.
