No matter what big budget Hollywood shitfest Peter Jackson decides to direct next, for genre fans he will always be known for his first 3 gloriously
low budget films,
Bad Taste, Meet The Feebles and this classic. Without a doubt Dead Alive AKA Braindead is The funniest "Splatstick" movie
ever! With full on gross out gore and kick ass one liners (especially from Uncle Les) this is a perfect party movie (if there ever was one).

Young Lionel is a real mummy's boy. She wont let him leave her side even though he looks like he is in his 30's! After hooking up with the girl from
the local shop (Paquita), in the cheesiest romantic type thing you will ever see, he takes her to the zoo. Dear old mum follows Lionel to spy on him
and gets bitten by a very vicious rat monkey looking thing. What is unknown is a bite from this monkey turns its victims into zombies! I cannot say
much more about this movie as it will spoil the fun.

Shot on a budget of around $1m, Jackson really had it going on with this one. Not that his two previous efforts were slouches or anything, this is
just way more professional looking. With some very impressive gore, Oddball actors, total black humor and an insane script, this is a horror/cult
movie fans wet dream!

It certainly lives up to its Tagline "You'll Laugh Yourself Sick!"
