WOW ! This has to be one of the oddest films I think I have ever watched, and I have seen some odd stuff over the past 23 years since I stated
watching monster and horror films at the Drive-In. It really has a simple base to a plot line, and contains no real structure in development but it
seems to work rather well, making this one to me a favorite and soon to be classic.

The story basically starts as a high profile record producer Max Taylor wins the childhood home of a one Mr. Callum Chance played by the legendary
Christopher Lee in a poker game. Soon we find Taylor along with his wife and kids heading out to visit there new estate and see what his lucky
hand had brought to him. Soon realizing the entire? cor of the house is set like a huge casino with every nook and cranny filled with objects that
represent a card marking (Ace, Spade, Diamond, Heart) they soon unleash an evil Court Jester that is bent on rewarding the players with there
final hand rather with a winning one. The story takes a side note as we soon learn that Taylor’s brother is delivering some of his brother’s
belongings to him at the new house. On his way there, he manages to pick up a numerous horde of hitchhikes, that very from one another in
personality in more ways, than the possible variations of a winning hand in a game of 5 card stud.  Soon each person within the house is dealt
with, as the Jester deals out a deadly punishment that fits each person’s special little quirk. The slaughter is filled with everything from suffocating
pillows, club head beat ins, strip club wife revenge beatings, Punch and Judy stand in performances, and my favorite a nice little bird watcher done
in by a kitchen shotgun blast to the head.

This film is amazing that for one the story is loosely based on to this day I still don’t know, and the fact that it’s filled with a lot of dry English humor
that I myself find hilarious. The box contains a quote that states “It’s Like,
Monty Python Meets A Nightmare On Elm Street” and I couldn’t agree
more. The special effects are good and add to the films wit as each is very creative so they meet with the films true star The Court Jester played by
Mr.Tim James (who’s performance is classic) whom ends each killing with a little sass. The disc is also very ample when it come to extras to with
everything ranging from commentaries, Making of…, Interviews, Original Short film version, and much more. Released for the first time I the United
States this one will soon become a staple in any American collection. I would bet on that!
