Nucleus Films presents a two hour compilation of 55 of the most sleazy and depraved film trailers from the 60s and 70s Compiled by Marc Morris &
Jake West and it’s a frantic mix of blaxpoitation, zombie, rape & revenge, kung fu, sexploitation and wip movies, there surely is something for
everyone here! The term Grindhouse -made popular today by Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez) was in fact the name for the old sleazy 24
hour cinema’s that played low budget violent, gore and porn films in America. Most of them were such low budget or downright bizarre they relied
on lurid artwork or shocking trailers to get the punters in, many of the films previewed have of course achieved cult status, but if you are new to
the Grindhouse experience it’s a petty sweet chance to see some of the more out there titles.
Well personally in the early days of VHS there was many times that I would look forward to the trailers more than watching the film itself, in most
cases the trailer was indeed better than the main feature many of them just showed the best bits out of the film and you could always tell the
worst ones as the trailer went on for ages. Most of these trailers featured here are classics in their own right, along with the imaginative poster
artwork, over the top voice overs the marketing and advertising these types of films is almost a long forgotten genre all in its own.
Whilst there are trailers for the more mainstream flicks like I Spit on Your Grave, Last house on the Left, Isla, Shogun Assassin, it’s a great
chance to see some of the more previews for obscure titles like Master of the Flying Guillotine, Night of the Bloody Apes, the thing with two
heads. There many crazy flicks on here and it’s amazing to believe they are actually films that were made.
I really enjoyed watching this, sure it’s hard to take some of them seriously and there’s some really funny stuff on here. If you’re looking to get into
the ‘Grindhouse experience’ but not sure where to begin then this DVD is a great place to start.

GRINDHOUSE cinemas were located in the sleaziest, most run-down US inner-cities and New York’s 42nd Street was one of the most famous trash pit hangouts for denizens of the lower depths. From dusk ‘til dawn these moviehouses would unspool a mind-boggling assortment of English language and foreign exploitation movies featuring lashings of sex, gore and violence.
For the first time ever on British DVD you can now sit back and take a twisted trip back to the glory days of the sleazy 60s and 70s for a roaring rampage through a two-hour hand-picked collection of some of the most insane examples of trailer trash ever to slash and burn their way through a Grindhouse cinema projector.
