The Incubus
DVD/APPROX. 93 MINS/1981/CANADA R18+
Weird shit is going down in the township of Gallen. Men are being butchered, and women raped and mutilated by some unseen character who
doesn’t leave any clues, except a mangled corpse.
Police are baffled by these killings, until it comes to light that 30 years ago, the same thing happened, in the same town. What follows is a mystery
as to who (or what) is behind all these rapes, and also as to what the newspaper chick with the big boofy hair, the teenager who keeps having
nightmares, & the doctors daughter all have to do with these crimes.
A fairly interesting storyline keeps this moving along at a reasonably fast pace. It does drop into a lull at about the 45 minute mark but picks up
very quickly soon after. Also by reading my first statement and thinking it is just chocka’s with T&A, well you would by quite wrong. It’s fairly
restrained in that department, and I feel it works better for it.
The gore is also fairly light, except for one stand out bit where a farmer accidentally blows his own foot off with a shotgun and then gets hit in the
neck with a shovel! Fucking wicked.
A decent film worth checking out it is kinda like a mix between The Exorcist, The Omen and Xtro. Only available on DVD from Image, the R1 can be
had for less than a Tenner on DVDpacific.com and is well worth it in your next order..

The summer peacefulness of the New England community of Galen is suddenly shattered by a series of murders. Dr. Sam Cordell (John Cassavetes), a newly arrived surgeon and pathologist, tries to help veteran police chief Hank Walden (John Ireland) investigate the baffling crimes.
Jenny, Dr. Cordell's daughter, tells her father about the terrible recurring nightmares suffered by her boyfriend, Tim Galen, which seem to coincide with the slayings.
At the town museum, scene of one of the murders, Dr. Cordell finds an ancient book that tells of Incubus, a demon of many forms that ravishes women in their nightmares. He also learns that Incubus and Succubus, a demon that appears to men, can be sexually interchangeable.
