Directed by Tetsuro Takeuchi, Wild Zero is one crazy ass zombie movie, the tagline ‘Trash and Chaosss!’ pretty much sums up this film!!
The story follows Ace, a rock and roll wannabe who dreams of being like his rock idols, Guitar Wolf, Bass Wolf and Drum wolf. Back stage at one of
their gigs Ace accidentally stumbles into argument with the bands manager, inadvertently saving their lives; Guitar Wolf makes ace a blood brother
and gives him a whistle to blow if he’s ever in any trouble. It’s not long before Ace blows the whistle as the planet has been invaded by aliens who
are bringing the dead back to life!! Along the way Ace encounters a crazy female arms dealer and rescues Tobio a girl who is not all she seems!
I won’t give too much about the plot let’s just say it’s a real fun movie with lots of cheesy gore. The whole feel of the film is b-movie, but don’t let
this put you off, if your tired of the ‘serious’ land or dawn zombie movies check this out. Most of the storyline won’t make any sense at all, and it’s a
shame as there seemed to be some delays between the action and when it does it more than makes up for it, look beyond this as the story
concerns the friendship/love between Ace and Tobio. Some really crazy/low budget effects like Guitar Wolfs disposal of a hoard of zombies with a
kind of firestorm hail of plectrums, flame spitting microphones and bikes, numerous exploding heads and bodies, really you just have to watch this
film, if I told all the details then it would sound like the most ludicrous films you’d ever see, and it probably is, but then its RRROOCCKK AND
RRRROOLLL!!!!!
