Witchouse 3: Demon Fire
DVD/APPROX. 77 MINS/2001/USA UNRATED
Annie (Tanya Dempsey) has just recently left her boyfriend Burke (Paul Darrigo) in fear that he will beat her up again. She packs her things up and
quickly drives to her longtime friend Stevie's (Debbie Rochon) in hope she can stay at her beach house. When she gets there Stevie is dressed as
a witch and her friend/room mate Rose (Tina Krause) is helping her film a documentary about wicca and the occult. That following night the girls
decide to have a few drinks and talk about their problems in the spa. Not much later, Stevie tells Annie all about her project she is currently
working on, and talks Annie and Rose into performing a ritual. The three girls sit around inside a pentagram with candles surrounding them, then
Stevie tells Annie and Rose to concentrate while she speaks from the ironbound book. Before you know it the incantation works, and the spirit of
Lilith (Brinke Stevens) appears in a ghostly image. The doors and windows open and close, while thunder booms outside their beach house. The
three girls get scared and run screaming outside, not looking back until they reach the beach lookout. They start laughing and convince each other
that the incantation actually didn't work and nothing came though from the other side. But, unaware they succeeded in opening the portal and
summoning Lilith, one by one she haunts them, warning that she is going to kill them one by one for playing with the powers of witchcraft. Can
they stop Lilith and send her back though the portal, or will they all be dammed for eternity?
The one thing i love about J.R. Bookwalter films is that he can turn a low-budget production into something that just draws you into the film and
keep you on the edge of your seat. Those who don't know exactly who J.R. Bookwalter is, well he is the Peter Jackson of low budget blood guts
and gore. He has directed and filmed movies such as The Dead Next Door (1989) and Ozone (1993), and this time he brings us another
masterpiece. Though this is clearly not a gory zombie film, and more about witchcraft and the occult that follows it. I haven't had the chance to see
Witchouse (1999) and Witchouse 2: Blood Coven (2000) so i can't really comment on those two films just yet, but what i can say is Witchouse
3: Demon Fire (2001) was very well written and shot to perfection. Every scene with Lilith is great, like when she was just visible in the foggy
smoke that surrounds the girls, or even hearing her raspy whispering haunting voice that she does while telling the girls they're just about to die
soon. When I started watching this movie, I kind of had it in the back of my mind how cheesy the acting will be, but all four gorgeous scream
queens (Debbie Rochon, Tanya Dempsey, Tina Krause, and Brinke Stevens) played spectacular and outstanding rolls in Witchouse 3: Demon Fire.
I was shocked to see such talented actors, and the way they carried about and performed on camera. "Way to go girls". Also not to mention the
nude scene of Tina Krause, put a smile on my face thats for sure. J.R. Bookwalter has truly out done himself with this film.
Witchouse 3: Demon Fire draws you in and then knocks you flat on your ass with a mind blowing creepy, demented twist at the end. Witchouse
3: Demon Fire is a must see, and gets two thumbs up from me, J.R. Bookwalter fans will definitely get there moneys worth out of this film.
