Wrong Turn
DVD/APPROX. 84 MINS/2003/USA R18+
Wrong Turn is about a young man by the name of Chris (Desmond Harrington) he is trying to get to North Carolina for an job interview, until the
highway he is on slows down due to a traffic jam. Chris is very determined to get to this job interview so he takes a shortcut on a dirt road which
he comes to a gas station where there is a old dirty map, there he sees a back track which leads back around onto the highway which he was
currently on. So he heads further down the dirt road which he ends up meeting a group of campers Jesse (Eliza Dushku), Scott (Jeremy Sisto),
Carly (Emmanulle Chriqui), Francine (Lindy Booth), and Evan (Kevin Zegers) due to smashing his car into the rear end of there car which had a flat
tire cause someone left bare wire on the road but he also totals his car which is not drive able. Now they are stranded in the middle of nowhere on
a dirt road, so two out of the group stays behind to look after the stuff inside the cars while the rest go trailing up the dirt road to find help.
Sooner or later they find a old run down hill billy cabin that has dozens of broken down cars. They realize no one is home so they enter the cabin
hoping to find a phone so they can call someone to come & get there cars, this is where things get very interesting. The cabin is filled with peoples
teeth, human organs, a fetus bottled in jars with dismembered body parts laying all over the place & a rotting corpses in the bathroom. This is
when they realize they are in the wrong place at the wrong time & before you know it a truck is screaming up the dirt road to the cabin. They all
hide within the cabin, some hide in a closet & the rest hide under the bed hoping they wont be seen. This is where they see the inbreed deformed
mountain men dragging the lifeless corpses of there 2 friends who were back at the cars waiting for help to arrive, one of the mountain men drags
the young women in & throws her on the table & starts hacking into her limbs one by one. The rest of the group hidden in the cabin are at freaking
point & trembling in fear while they watch these monsters dismember there friends in the cabin. A few hours past and the mountain men crash out,
this is there chance to escape unexpected & hope they dont see them. But it wouldn't be a horror movie if that happened, just as about they are
leaving the door squeaks & they wake up with a surprise look on there faces. The group runs towards the Forrest to hide from the inbreed
mountain men & spend every minute in total fear of them.
Wrong Turn reminded me a lot like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets The Hills Have Eyes. Director Rob Schmidt did a awesome job are
filming Wrong Turn, there is a fair amount of scenes with suspense & scare that will make you jump out of your seat and surprising a fair amount
of gore. Eliza Dushku plays a good roll in this film also, where i didn't think she could pull it off but she did it in a way i never thought she could do.
Every gore hound fans of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes will enjoy every minute of this film. I highly recommend you buy
this on DVD cause its a keeper thats for sure.
