A nuclear power plant in Kansas City is just about to go under a melt down. While toxic poisons spills out within the power plant, the co-workers
who aren’t able to get out in time, slowly begin  turning  into flesh eating zombies. The government attempts to cover up the evidence by leveling
the power plant to ground level, to bury the zombies and use the power plant as their tomb. Two years pass, and now the government officials
decide to sell off the vacant land and begin to build residential housing so they can sell to the public and make a few quick dollars. Joey Talbott
(Chris Harris) who was given a video camera for his birthday, decides to film his sister Gwen (Cathy Metz) and best friend Mike Walsh (Auggi
Alvarez) down near an old underground shaft that use to lead into the power plant. It's not until the two fall into a dark deep pit, Joey quickly runs
to get help by getting his parents Larry (Jerry Angell), Beth (Cheryl Metz), while Mikes father Ralph (Frank Dunlay) who at the time was visiting
Joey's parents come to the rescue to two teenagers, just before hearing the old shaft collapse deep inside. Later that night Mike and his younger
brother Dave (T.G. Watkins) decide to hold a movie night and invite Joey to come over to his house and sink a few sodas and pig out on chips and
pizza while watching
Zombie Rampage (A early Todd Sheets film) on TV. That following night their neighborhood is slowly being overrun by
zombies, block by block the teens can hear their neighbors screaming for help, while the zombies moan and chew on their victims bloody limbs. The
three boys quickly ring their parents, who soon realize the neighborhood is infested by the undead, and begin to fight their way across the street
to the boys. The following morning the parents and teenagers team together to fight off the hordes of the undead and find a way to make it out of
the city alive before they are devoured by the zombies.

B grade filmmaker Todd Sheets
Zombie Bloodbath is a gory zombie film that pays homage to zombies directors Lucio Fulci Zombie, Georege
Romero's
Day of the Dead and Bruno Mattei's Hell of the Living Dead. Zombie Bloodbath was only targeted to zombie horror fans and those who
love low budget films. Todd never wanted to make a A grade zombie masterpiece, or even try to out do these legend greats with his film
Zombie
Bloodbath
. He only wanted to make a film that pays respect to films he grew up on. Personally, I believe Todd Sheets is a filmmaking guru, and for
years I have been dying to see his trilogy, and finally Camp Motion Pictures has just released all three
Zombie Bloodbath films on a 2 DVD set with
back to back commentaries and extras that will keep you entertained for hours. Yes the effects are cheap, and yes you wont know any of the cast
in his films, but that’s the whole thing you gotta love about independent cinema. Todd Sheets is a horror gorehound just like the rest of us, and I
fully respect this filmmaker for getting out there and giving it a go. Todd, who has had many years experience in filmmaking, has twelve short films
under his belt before making
Zombie Bloodbath, so straight away you know that this guy knows a thing or two when it comes to shooting a film.

The cast member I was mostly interested in was Frank Dunlay, who took his role seriously when it came to fighting off the zombies. Another cast
member I didn’t mind and who I found very entertaining when it definitely came to the fighting scenes was actor Auggi Alvarez, who manages to
kick the shit out of several zombies by using his martial arts skills. But overall the rest of the cast did a awesome job with their characters. And not
to mention you get to see director Todd Sheets who plays a small cameo in
Zombie Bloodbath.

The special effects in
Zombie Bloodbath weren’t too bad from time to time. The beginning of the film could of used a cut or two when it came to the
co-workers faces melting, but with having eight make-up effect artists, painting hundreds of Kansas City citizens who were willing to be in the
movie for free as zombies on a daily bases before every shoot, was outstanding. For the gore effects they used scrap meat from their local butcher
shop for the guts, corn syrup for the blood and did it all pay off? Well I believe it did. Todd only had so much cash to work with, and so much time
to get the visual effects he wanted.

Though what comes with the good comes with the bad. At times the film was poorly shot in certain scenes, but not to the point where you feel like
wanting to turn off the movie, just some scenes, the actors who were talking were shot off screen. Another thing that did bother me is that a
number of times the two families are over crowded by zombies and for some reason they never grabbed their victims, it was more like the zombies
wanted their autographs instead. I think this is the big let down for
Zombie Bloodbath, and why so many people turn away from this film. But
other than that, the film is rather enjoyable to veg out too, as long as you switch off your brain.

The
Zombie Bloodbath Trilogy is finally released on 2 DVD set by our sponsor Camp Motion Pictures. But just keep in mind Zombie Bloodbath is
made for those who enjoy independent zombie horror, and filled with blood, guts and gore. If you take your zombies films seriously, well I suggest
you give this trilogy pack a miss. But If you love independent cinema with cheesy special effects, unknown actors who are fighting off hundreds of
zombies, well you are going to enjoy watching Todd Sheets
Zombie Bloodbath Trilogy 2 DVD set and for only $14.95 you can't get a better deal
than that.
